Mama Tara Ministry Programs

Created to Meet the Needs of the Miskito Community of Puerto Lempira

PROGRAMS

Mercy and Grace Preschool

Mercy and Grace Preschool provides a strong educational base for the younger children at Mama Tara, as well as many staff/community children. The children are taught basic skills using creative Christian curriculum-based lesson plans to hopefully promote a life-long love of leaning and a desire to open their hearts to Jesus.

Mama Tara Homeschool

Mama Tara Homeschool began during Covid shutdowns of the local school and continued due to the success of the program. Having classes on our campus with fully qualified teachers has helped our students grades one through six to gain in knowledge and confidence.

PROGRAMS

Family Assist Ministry

Family Assist Ministry was started to give a helping “hand-up” to the families in the surrounding community who lack the resources needed to provide nourishment and education for their children. The families are provided weekly food bags, educational supplies and tutoring, and accountability counseling opportunities to provide strategies for success.

Food Bag Ministry

Food Bag Ministry provided to give another “hand-up instead of a hand-out” to those in the community who are willing to work around Mama Tara doing needed chores such as washing clothes or other jobs and receive a bag of rice, beans, and other essentials.
